AWUS036H on a Dell 8600, possible?

Yes all of what you have ordered there should fit fine. I have that very 9dbi antenna plugged straight into the alfa. I have to hold it down with bluetac though as its massive and the alfa is not wieghty enouhg to anchor it down. That mag mount would obviously fix that though

The magnetic base should help though right?

I'm gonna get BT and learn how to use it, will BT work with these adapters under VMWare or should I live CD / install it?
(be nice to still use my rt2500 mini-pci card under windows to browse on my personal WPA link!!!)

Personally i havent tried those dongles but heres a link to the BT hardware compatibility list

if they work on BT thats installed to a HD they should work just the same as on VMware (as long as there USB)
The few USB dongles i have tried work just as well on VMware player compared to a HD install.
