I don't own it but a lot of my friends here swear by it.
To answer your question directly..everyone who has bought the alfa says they can do it all.

Cool. I found 'em on ebay from DataAlliance. Kinda scary looking, and yet wildly intriguing.That's liable to raise a few eyebrows when I pull it out during a pen test. Thanks for the info.
Your quite welcome.And its really quite small and compact. Don't let the pix fool ya. Size of a deck of cards I hear. Besides..when they see it..you'll look "professional".

Ooooh, my wife is gonna hate you... This guy has lots of cool stuff on his ebay store.![]()
Hi Skiamakhe
I have the same laptop with yours u305-5077 but haven't succeeded yet with wireless. I tried a lot of solutions (using madwifi then ndiswrapper...) also followed your method...
Do you remember any specific steps to get it work?
thanks
Lam
Nidswrapper is next to useless, at least for BackTrack purposes.
"\x74\x68\x65\x70\x72\x65\x7a\x39\x38";
As I mention in this very thread, madwifi says they don't support the AR5007EG chip.
Ndiswrapper will work, but the trick is getting the right XP driver. The original link I had provided in post 18 of this thread is no longer available, so I updated it with another link to the same ftp site, but a different file. Unfortunately, I was trying to mess with *that* net5211.inf file, and it doesn't work.
The trick is in getting the right net5211.inf file. After that, the instructions I linked to earlier in this thread will work.
***Edit***Found the file, I think. I has the same file name and was actually attached to another forum. Everywhere else I looked, it was the link to no-longer-available file. Check post 18.

Actually my wireless worked before and that time I use driver for XP. Unfortunately I just deleted my partitions when trying to merge them (such an idiot...)
I installed a fresh ubuntu. Now I could not get it work any more. All I remember is that I used XP driver to get it work but now I'm not sure how I did. I still keep the old driver I used however it did not help.
