Installation "backtrack 5" to "macbook 5.2" startup freezes loading the operating sys

Hello everyone,

After a couple of years with ubuntu, I decided to switch to blacktrack. I tried to install version 5 of the operating system on a MacBook Pro 5.2 - full HD (1920 x 1080).

- I prepared the partitions: ext4 and snaps.
- I installed on the macbook pro "rEFIt" to dual boot.
- I installed via DVD blacktrack 5 R1 x64 Gnome (I also tried the 32-bit).
- Reboot the macbook pro and use grub to choose the operating system.
- The operating system just freezes when you are loading. I can not even get to the login.

I would like to bump this thread since I'm having the exact same errors, with the exact specifications you gave.

macbook5,2 backtrack 5, error and exact same place of your screenshot.

If anyone have some idea, i would appreciate... sorry to bump/res thread.

Had the same problem....

Here is a way to solve it:

In the grub moot menu just hit "e" and edit the booting modus:

add "nomodeset" and start booting with ctrl + x

That shall do!

i have one more issue, how do i make sure the wireless card works inside it?

ethernet works, but i don't see wireless working or how to turn it on..

i tried the whole zcat > config.gz thing and it does not work like i can't get past that line. please help 3mpty. thank you so much!
