Connecting to networks with hidden ESSID
Hi all as the title suggests i cant connect to my network when i stop the broadcast of my ESSID.
I looked at the thread below but no anwser was provided.

....
deauth all clients....you get the ssid in airodump
config your card like usual......

Here are the commands i use in BT2.
ifconfig wlan0 down
iwconfig essid NETWORKNAME key 11122334455
ifconfig wlan0 up
iwconfig wlan0 mode managed
If you need anymore info just ask.
I knew how to get the ESSID with kismet it just that when i config my card as normal with the ssid i have it wont connect. I will try again.Originally Posted by shamanvirtuel

hm, try this:ifconfig wlan0 down
iwconfig essid NETWORKNAME key 11122334455
ifconfig wlan0 up
iwconfig wlan0 mode managed
if you have dhcp activated, you should doifconfig wlan0 down
iwconfig wlan0 mode managed
iwconfig essid "NETWORKNAME" key 11122334455
ifconfig wlan0 up
Code:dhcpcd wlan0
The answer is 42.
