    Unhappy Parallels 7 + Backtrack 5 R2 - Issue Install Parallel Tools

    Good Afternoon,

I've had success installing Parallel Tools on Backtrack 5 R1 using the following command...

    Code:
    root@bt:~# ln -s /usr/src/linux /lib/modules/2.6.39.4/build
I've upgraded to Backtrack R2, but haven't been able to install Parallel Tools. Does anyone have a suggestion?
I'm running Parallel 7 on OSX Lion.

    Thanks in advanced. Cheers!

Have you ever thought about adjusting the path you're using to your linux builds?

    I just used

    ln -s /usr/src/linux /lib/modules/3.x.x.x.x/build

(Where the x stands for your version number, find out with using the 'tab' key)

and everything worked 100% fine for me afterwards!

Did you manage to compile the Parallels tools with this method ? I've got compilation errors due to non support of the kernel v3. From what I've understand Parallels 7 does not support kernel v3 yet. I've managed to patch the code for it to compile but nothing is starting at boot. It seems it's much more complicated to have the tools working. Maybe some problems in the init scripts

Parallels install.sh initially failed for me, but then ran successfully after "prepare kernel headers" as per the wiki
    (in Snow Leopard)
