I install BT5 R1 with win 7 as a dual boot .
I changed the default password " root " and " toor " to another one . After one week , when i log in to the BT . I forgot my new password .
How can i reset my BT5 R1 password .
I searched Deeply in Googling about that . But I cannot find . So I am stopping to study the BT5 .
plz help me How to password reset BackTrack 5 R1 ?

Another way would be to use the same method u used to install it, be it disc or usb.....chroot into the drive and passwd it up....

If you can't remember a simple password why are you playing with a Linux distro aimed at IT Security professionals?
You could always boot from CD or USB and then copy the original BT passwd and shadow files to your boot device.
I'm a compulsive post editor, you might wanna wait until my post has been online for 5-10 mins before quoting it as it will likely change.
I know I seem harsh in some of my replies. SORRY! But if you're doing something illegal or posting something that seems to be obvious BS I'm going to call you on it.
