ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5770 doesn't work with backtrack 5 r2

my gpu -ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5770- doesn't work with backtrack 5 r2. i was using ubuntu(gnome) before installed backtrack and there wasn't any problem with my gpu. now i'm using kde. in my opinion it can be make problem with my gpu. how can i fix that?

try downloading and installing ATI linux driver before running startx

Hi there, see it isn't a problem, Backtrack doesn't have the drivers by default and it don't have the app called Hardware Drivers, ok, in first instance don't try to download it it won't work, you need install the drivers manually, also u need install the APP SDK from AMD, luckyly you can find the how to in the Back-Track wiki, I will leave the link over here:

It works perfectly over R1/R2 and the normal version xD.

I use AMD 6480 and this makes my GPU give me an awesome Desktop

p0cTeam's method worked for desktop hd 5770
after installation, before running startx, install new drivers for the vga.
