Cant install BT 5 R2 on portable hard disk

I tried to install BT 5 R2 on portable hard disk, but when I install and reboot to bootup BT 5 it didnt work. Just keeps a black screen.

I installed grub on /dev/sdc (portable hdd)

What Im missing?

Please, describe the way you installed BT5 in external HDD, need more info...How you installed Grub2?...

Two thoughts:

1) When booting my BT5 USB key, the screen stays black for several seconds before booting properly. Wait at least 30 seconds before shutting off the machine.
2) Did you boot to the USB HDD from your BIOS? Lots of BIOSes give you a boot selection menu by pressing ESC, F12 or F8 during POST.

If those don't solve your problem, please detail the problem better. What is the last screen you see before it goes blank? How did you install BT?
