are you sure its persistent? Do your other changes stay? Those are parameters i never really found the need to change. We don't really recommend logging in as anything other than root, mostly because most of the tools here require it.
Greetings,
I installed BT5 R1 persistent on my USB stick but I can't seem to change the hostname. Every time I reboot it reverts to "root". This is what I did:
It works but it won't stay, if anyone could tell me what I'm obviously doing wrong?Code:root@root:~# hostname testname root@root:~# echo testname > /etc/hostname root@root:~# hostname testname root@root:~# logout root@testname:~# _
My other issue is that when I boot BT it automatically logs in the root user. I tried changing the /etc/init/tty*.conf files to call /bin/login without parameters (default is /bin/login -f root) but every time I reboot the files are getting reverted to the original and root is being logged in again.
I guess those files keep reverting because of some startup script that keeps loading default values but I can't find them, so if anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be really great!
Thank you!
