nvidia gt540m : i can't get it work

I've a backtrack 5 r1. I've installed the 32bit version because the 64bit version was causing me problems (my computer is an acer 64bit).
I've installed the nvidia driver for my gt540m but it gets:

(==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf"
(==) Using config directory: "/usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d"
(EE) No devices detected.

Fatal server error:
no screens found

so i always have to move the xorg.conf to be able to use graphic interface (without nvidia).

i've installed the driver in many ways for example:

prepare-kernel-sources
cd /usr/src/linux
cp -rf include/generated/* include/linux/
cd
chmod +x nvidiafilename

logged out and

sh nvidiafilename

which driver should i use? the 32bit or the 64bit version? how do i properly use the driver? thanks.

I had the same issue with this, I also have an acer with a GT540m and Intel HD video card. snafu777 was able to help me out with this problem. If you are using the 32 bit BT5 you are going to want to use the 32 bit drivers. You can find the solution here. All credit for the fix goes to snafu777.
