big problem with me

hi , how are u ?

i have faced a big problem in the installing BT5 R1

when i start install and do something after startx to show a desktop ,after i write startx

the picture of backtrak show,and the form of mouse change to waiting in all time

i dont know what is the problem , please help me ..

Since you've posted no information at all about your hardware and setup, there's really no way for anyone to help you.

When you boot into backtrack BEFORE you type "startx" run these commands:

fix-splash
rm /root/.kde/cache-root/icon-cac*he.kcache
rm /root/.kde/cache-root/plasma_t*heme_Volatile.kcache
rm /root/.kde/cache-bt/icon-cache*.kcache
rm /root/.kde/cache-bt/plasma_the*me_Volatile.kcache

It should allow you to use startx after.

When you get onto desktop afterwards you can then open a konsole and use these commands:

Apt-get update

Apt-get dist-upgrade

They will update Backtrack to latest build.
