I also have the same problem when i boot from my Acer laptop Cd-Rom. Anyone care to help?
Thank in Advance.
Okay so I downloaded a copy of BT5-GNOME-32 for my Mac book Pro. I checked the md5 hash and it was fine. I burnt it to a DVD+R at 2.4x speed with no errors. I originally had an issue with the white noise screen and i fixed that with the radeon.modeset=0 command. Now where I am stuck and what I have yet to find a sufficient answer too is when I get to the splash screen it sits for a while and then returns a line stating (initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system. Any help as to how to fix it would be much appreciated.

It looks to me like a problem when mounting the filesystem...Perhaps the cd. Try booting up with a diferent live cd linux distro..See if you get the same error...
initramfs = Init Ram File System. It loads a copy of File System into Ram at boot up proccess, after that and some other things, the linux Partition file system is loaded.
Good luck...
For me, I got this error when booting from a USB 3.0 port. I just switched the flash drive to a USB 2.0 port, and it works brilliantly now.
