INSTALL HELP - total noob

Totally cannot get it to install. basic rundown -
hardware- amd phenom ii 840 64 bit processor- 4 gb ram
samsung 1tb sata hdd

installation method - complete format and install
using BT5-GNOME-32.iso
checksum verified as b01a93a916fabb6d1640bd0054428e17
all seems well cd ejects and enter is hit computer restarts.

have tried this twice now and have tried installing using AHCI and IDE configurations for the SATA.

under AHCI i get

error: out of disk
grub rescue>

under IDE i get a different sort of pain

error: hd0,1 out of disk
vga=791 is deprecated. use setgfxpayload = 1024x768x16 before linux command instead.
error:couldnt read file
error:you need to load the kerenel first
failed to boot both default and fallback entries.

be aware i am a total newb at this. any patient help would be awesome.

persistence and alot of googling paid off. Theres definatley a problem with my drive. gparted helped as i made new partitions starting from the end and left 20 gb free at the beginning. 1st i tried 10 but still got errors with gparted so the disk problem seems to lie in that area.
this is the error that i was getting in gparted until i left 20 free at the start.
ext2fs_mkdir: Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read while creating root dir

hope this might help someone else.

While you may think otherwise, my intention was to help. And clearly google helped you in the end. Perhaps you should have tried that first before making this thread. Don't bother trying to have a go now. I won't be replying again.
