    Question Hibernate in BackTrack2.0

I installed Backtrack 2.0 final on my laptop and use it as a distro

It would be useful to have hibernate function. Does it exist in BT2.0?

There is a few projects out there but they require kernel patch.

If it does not exist maybe its a good request for BT3.0

    Default unreliable

Hibernation under linux is at best unreliable.

A comment here discusses some aspects:

Slax is designed as a 'Live' distribution. Hibernation in the form of storing RAM to disk for preservation of resource is therefore limited if not unfeasible though anything is possible given time.

I know Xploitz was doing some work in this area.

He had the computer going into hibernation but the problem was getting it out again.
I don't remember the outcome of his work but it may be worth searching to see if it was finally resolved.
