Cannot get broadcom wireless network controller to work [acer 5532 BCM43225 rev 01]

I have an acer 5532 laptop with broadcom wireless network controller. I am not able to find the wireless networks

installed backtrack 5r1 today

I ran the "lspci" command and got the following output

Then I followed the following tutorial and installed the wireless driver

Is this even feasible? I gave up a while ago (so I could be out of date). As far as I can remember, b43 requires kernel 3.1+. You might have some success with compat-wireless. This card is triply cursed; the brcm80211 module is missing from kernel 39.4, and the wl driver is very difficult to activate. It does work (sort of) in kernel 2.6.38 ie BT5.

My advice - buy an Alfa!

PS I would love to hear from anyone who does have it working.

On bt5r1 the wlan card doesnt work properly but on bt5 i am able to get it up and running. But when trying to crack WEP i am not able to capture any data packets but i am able to capture beacons can anyone help me

yeah you are correct on bt5 it works . When trying to crack WEP i am unable to capture data packets but i am able to read beacons . Is there a Fix for this?...
