The reason why its failing is because you're trying to perform wireless actions on a wired device.
What is the complete output of lspci / lsusb? What interfaces are shown in iwconfig / ifconfig?
Hey guys I am very new to Linux so I am sorry if this is a stupid question, I have spent much time on Google looking for a fix but have only found similar problems involving other cards and nothing for my particular one.
When I type in airmon-ng no interface shows up but I know mine is compatible because I got it working one time but I do not know what happened now.
I am using an Asus g73 Laptop with an intel i7. I am using BT5 Gnome 32bit (I think) on a USB stick with partitioning on.
I typed in this and got:
lspci -k |grep RTL
05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 06)
My Ethernet driver is: r8169 Gigabit Ethernet driver 2.3LK-NAPI loaded
I am not sure what other specs are needed so let me know and I will post anything to help, thank you!
