Can you post some more details on the error your getting? I take it your booting a live cd image. Are you trying to use a vmware version? sounds like a vmware error.
I have BT5 R1 KDE on a 32Bit.
It runs perfectly the first 2 times i boot it up,but the third time i boot it up and enter "startx" it sits there for around 5 minutes then says "No Protocol Specified" a bunch of times.I've tried re-burning it and it does the same thing.I've also tried BT5 Gnome and BT5 KDE but still the same thing =\
I've searched and searched but none of the solutions work...

Since you mention the problem happening after entering startx, this might be a video card/driver issue, too. What's the output of dmesg? Have you checked your hardware against the hardware compatibility list forum for problems similar to your's? The BackTrack wiki may also be of help. Do you have another box on which you can install BackTrack?

If I could figure out how to scuba dive & hack at the same time, there would be nothing I couldn't do...
Sorry i'm just now replying,i've been busy with Christmas and all.
And here's some more specific details:
Computer: Acer Aspire One D255E
BackTrack: Boot Up From USB | BackTrack 5 R1 KDE Persistent(Made with Universal USB Installer)
Operating System: Windows 7 | 32-bit
RAM: 1GB DDR3
When i boot it up from Text Mode it does say this: "Undefined video mode number:317",it asks me if i want to see the list(Enter) or continue(Space).I usually just hit continue since i don't know what it means. So it might be a video card error.
And I'll check to see what it says to dmesg when i re-install it.
This sure feels like a video card/driver issue to me. What video card is in this machine? Also, are you installing BT on this box in a dual-boot? Have you tried installing BackTrack from CD?

Intel GMA 3150 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 4.0
And i boot it up from the bios,i don't use stuff like Virtual Box.
And i've never actually installed it,even from USB boot up.it says something about clearing my computer or something...i still need windows 7.
Hmm...not sure what to tell you, I'm afraid. My next guess would be to try installing BackTrack into a virtual machine, and troubleshoot from there.
