How to connect/pull IP?

I'm getting into this stuff today on my day off

I have an AP setup here at home as a dummy. Right now, it has no WEP. I can get my card into monitor mode (thanks xploit) and can now see the AP. How do I attach to it and request an IP? (it is using dhcp)

Assuming your card is eth0

iwconfig eth0 essid test
dhcpcd eth0

[shamanvirtuel]

well stop monitor mode on your card and
type this

iwconfig YOURDEVICE mode managed essid YOURAPESSID ap YOURAPMAC channel URCHAN rate 54M

iwconfig YOURDEVICE you will see your new config
dhcpcd -n YOURDEVICE

or stop monitor mode and open Kmenu/internet/wirelessassistant..........
