Default Non technical solution to wifi network prob in BT VmWare

    Hello everyone,

I faced alot of issues with my Alfa AWUS036H usb wifi card to connect to my
AP with BT5 VmWare(freshly installed) with errors like "No Wireless netorks found",
"Bad Password", "Unable to get IP address".

I googled and found alot of people having the same prob like me. One of the solutions
worked instantly for me so I thought of sharing it with you'll.

Insert the wifi usb adapter AFTER bt5 has fully powered on. If you already have the
adapter inserted remove the adapter, reboot bt and after its fully booted
insert the adapter again. Thats it.

I've no technical knowledge of whats happening under the hood.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

    hi, exus69
I do not know if it is for you
vmware tools are installed? if yes
try the command: ifconfig wlan0 up (if wlan0 is your alpha)
    if you get:
    SIOCSIFFLAGS: Unknown error 132
Test the solution of this blog: http://delfirosales.blogspot.com/201...-132-para.html
    bye!

Thanks for the tips Never used my AWUS036H within VMWare, but it's good to know about potential problems before-hand.
If I could figure out how to scuba dive & hack at the same time, there would be nothing I couldn't do...

    Hi zimmaro,

Thanks for the link. Havent faced any unknown error till now but
I'll bookmark it incase if required.

    Hi scottm99,

I wasted a good 3 hours trying to solve the problem and finally got
it done I know it can be very frustrating to get a simple job of
connecting to a wifi network done let alone trying to understand
about the complexities of BT lol

    Bye tc
