    Default major screw up.

Alright, so i tried the USB installer that shamanvirtuel made. It went through the seupt properly, i had the original backtrack2 ISO file in C:\ so it wouldnt have any weird spaces or anything, and the setup seemed to go fine. And then it rebooted after everything was complete.. and windows wouldnt start because... the SYSTEM folder was deleted???

    i am(was) running windows xp SP2 on a fujitsu N3530.

idk what happened (besides my system folder being deleted) that caused windows to completely CRAP OUT.

all i wanted to do was update aircrack-ng and save the configuration..

this is one of those mistakes i laugh about.

BTW, i DONT have the windows XP repair cd. (damn you frys electronics..)

(EDIT: When i went to try to boot the USB.. it said "Boot Error" and tried to go to the windows login. which THAT had an error too. hahaha thank God for the LiveCD..)

haha i would, but if its just the SYSTEM folder deleted due to a bad restart or something.. then that means theres still my precious information floating out there somewhere in my harddrive..

haha and thanks. i guess this is a learning experience..

I had also tried the Dual Booting. there were around 3 methods that i had tried. but none of which worked. It was weird, in qtparted, my harddrive was (before the deletion of my SYSTEM folder..)

    HDA1 - this was the Backtrack2 LiveCD
    SDA1 - my actual 70GB harddrive
SDA2? - i have no idea where this came from, or what it does. but 15MB was taken up by it.

i just have no luck with this stuff...AND ITS FRIDAY THE 13TH!
    OH SHI-
