using backtrack you usaully are running as root, google chrome will not run out-of-the-box in root and will throw errors, /opt/google/chrome there is a script file called google-chrome the told fix is to add "--user-data-dir $HOME" to last line to become
, only problem is this causes chrome to ignore the set home page and display contents of $HOME (/root) i think i found a fix for this which is to put " chrome:/newtab " ( i want new tab as homepage ) instead of $HOME so last line becomes
exec -a "$0" "$HERE/chrome" "$@" --user-data-dir $HOME
and that seems to work...
exec -a "$0" "$HERE/chrome" "$@" --user-data-dir chrome:/newtab
my question is this: so far there are no problems, will this cause problems??
p.s. is this worthy enough for fixes part of the forums?
