I bought one of those from ebay, but i can't get it to work, but it's probably just my lack of skill within linux.
ALFA AWUS036NHA USB wireless card/Atheros AR9271 chipset
Anybody have any experience using this card?
If so, any likes; dislikes?
Please advise.
Thanks,

OK, good luck on your experience.
The site I ordered mine from had a comparison of several ALFA cards, these were the only cards that had the ATHEROS chipset. I did a couple hour search last night with regard to this card, decided to pick up a couple, and experiment with them on BT5R1.
I feel comfortable with my choice.
What issue are you having with yours, with regard to getting it to run?

for your sadness Linux driver for ALFA AWUS036NHA does not exist.
*NHA and *NHR are the newest cards and the only driver which exist is that for *NHR, although it deos not work so good as it predecessor *NH which is the best out of there, for wireless things like aireplay-ng.
cheers mate.
I have been trying for a few hours now to get it to go into Mode Master, but still have had no success.
root@bt:~# iwconfig wlan0 mode master
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
Any ideas?
I decided to make life easy, so I purchased the "NH" model, (in fact, 2 of them).
Works great, right out of the box with BT5R1.
Working on a new project, the "UBERTOOTH1".
Later...........
I know it's an older thread, but anyone get this working yet?
I was wondering if the madwifi drivers would work for the ath9k Atheros9271 chip in the ALFA AWUS036NHA???

guys,I'm planning to get AWUS036NHA,is it work like charm as the old AWUS036H? or instead getting a AWUS036H?
The old one Awus036nh has the Ralink RT3070 chipset as for the AWUS036NHR which as a REALTEK RTL8188RU chipset. And the AWUS036NHR has a Atheros AR9002U chipset. The old one is ralink, as for the other two one is realtek and the other is atheros, which shouldn't have a problem with drivers. The cd's that come with the 2 cards have the linux drivers right into them which shouldn't be a problem.
