Correct Firefox Version

I'm running BackTrack 5 with Firefox 5.0.1. It's been complaining about updating. Should Firefox be updated to version 7, 6, or left at 5?

I've already went through the cycle once where I opened the universal repository and had to reinstall BackTrack 5, so I'm hesitant to install packages not in the BT repository. Your advice would be appreciated.

Well I had no problem updating just go to Help-> About - Check for updates
and thats it it will update your Firefox.

that will not update anything.

to update firefox to new version download firefox from their site and unrar into directory where u wan't to install...
then create new link to application on your desktop, select your fav. icon and to specify link to firefox type:
/$INSTALLPATH/firefox
where $INSTALLPATH is the path wehre you extracted your firefox.
to add icon on your taskbar just right click on old firefox icon and select add luncher and insert same path when promted.
