What your asking for sounds like "persistent changes".
Hi everyone new here and love security!
I'm very strict on doing updates immediately on startup and with a brand new OS. I have Back|Track 5 R1 installed on a flash drive, but it does not save updates when I reboot or power down. Is there a way I can do this? Would also like to install additional software and have them stored on the flash drive. I've tried the Universal USB Installer from pendrivelinux, but after reboot it does not load and get errors. Also tried Unibootin, but doesn't look like an option is available.

Sorry I wasn't sure where to look really. I ended up getting it working through pendrivelinux it just took a couple installs to get it right. The guide under How To's stated that Back|Track 5 R1 is available in the latest version of the USB Universal Installer by pendrivelinux, but it has not yet been added. It did work using Back|Track 5 configuration.![]()
