Update!: I found that If I type:
the alfa card is set to monitor mode succesfully and I checked the injection with: aireplay-ng -9 wlan1iwconfig wlan1 mode monitor
The problem is with mon interfaces! Anyone to help? Thanks
Hi guys. I have acer aspire d255 netbook. I'm trying to get into monitor mode with my onboard wifi card (wlan0) and with my external: Alfa awus036h with no luck.
When I'm trying to set monitor mode in both cards: (one by a time)
root@bt:~# airmon-ng start wlan0
Interface Chipset Driver
and stops there! and it's not returning with an error (or not) in the terminal.
I face this problem with internal and with Alfa AWUS036h. I think that is BT5 problem with the netbook because in the same netbook with bt4r2 there is no problem and also I tested BT5 in another laptop and it works. Maybe it's a conflict I don't know.
I have uploaded some screenshots that will help. I can upload any other info to pastebin.

Thanks in advance

same problem here ...
but found the cause:
Bug #49 - airmon-ng does not play nice with newer intel chipsets
btw. Google is you friend ...
possible solutions:
1. change the mode of the current interface:
2. use "airmon-zc" instead of "airmon-ng"Code:ifconfig wlan0 down iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor ifconfig wlan0 up
hope i could help
[This is my 4.try to post this ... backtrack-linux.org uses horrible captchas]
Thanks for the solutions. I have solved this by manual compiling aircrack suite!I will test your solutions.
What laptop do you have? Cause I have some problems with my ethernet card. Sometimes it doens't appears in the ifconfig list! and in lspci is shown.
