Hello, good afternoon, I am from argentina and I don`t speak english very well.
I am new in backtrack , i like it, but yesterdey i had a problem.
I turned on my notebook and when backtrack was started i put Startx but an error ocurred:
(Something like this)
Why this error ocurred?Faltal server error:
Could not create lock file in /tmp/.tX0-lock
ddxSigGiveUp: Closing log
giving up.
xinit: COnnection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error
xauth: error in locking authority file /root/.Xauthority
What is the solution?
Thanks to the community. Bye!

the error is the result of "something" creating a problem with xserver permissions. did you possibly add a new user to the system?
the real solution would have been to google search "error in locking authority file /root/.Xauthority " or some other portion of the error which printed; probably then prompting you to do some reading, and then deleting all .Xauthority files, rebooting, and a restart of the X server. still a better first post question than many
root@bt:~# locate .Xauthority
/root/.Xauthority
root@bt:~# rm /root/.Xauthority
this is all i get on a working b|t 5 install with only a root user. perhaps you may find more. remove them also prior to reboot.
hope this helps you.
i tried these tips but i still canīt enter.
Any other recommendation?
Thanks to people interested in my problem.
Bye!
Pablo.
