so after 2 days of seeking..i was not able to determine the chipset of new version of wg 111 the v3

here are the wifi certifications....but i can't find anything further ?
anybody have clue ???

Today i got a Netgear WG111v3 for free, because i bought a router. First thing to do with it was opening that thing and it looks like it has a Realtek chipset, more precisely a RTL8187B.
I took a picture of the dismatled stick and will post it sometime soon (have to find a cardreader first).

Yea, so I just think I wasted 40 bucks. I bought this today, and yep..I cracked it open and it has the RTL8187b chipset inside. So i think I'm SOL. I think the old v2 had the RTL8187L chipset. I can't get BT2 to recognize my new wg111 v3 at all. I tried installing the old drivers for the v2...and still nothing.

So, I'm probably gonna take this POS back to Fry's and tell them that I can't crack da WEP with the v3.

Unless someone can tell me they got theirs to work.

Am I sh!t out of luck on this one guys???

I think so.... AFAIK only the RTL8187L cards work

No..it DOES NOT support the Wg111 v3 with the RTL8187B chipset. But it does support the wg111 v2 because it has the RTL8187L chipset.
