If your bios supports booting external devices, then you'll only have to choose your boot drive once you install BT. Make sure you install grub to the external drive though.Originally Posted by chaterbox0

Well Im very new to BackTrack, and it only makes it harder I have no machine dedicated to running only BT5.
I do have a new desktop running XP with a terabyte master HD and a 300 GB slave drive. This slave drive was my main drive for my old desktop running XP. I looked into dual booting but I didn't want to mess up my master HD (which I somehow always manage to do). So to run BT5 on my slave drive I would have to format it then change the bios so my slave drive is my master, then install BT5? Would I have to switch the Master and Slave every time I wanted to change OS'? Thanks in advance.
