I'm kinda in the same boat, but with different symptoms.
I'm using the built-in bluetooth (on my macbook pro) which works fine using Parallels and Windows7.
• hciconfig shows the device
• hcitool scan works
•*hcitool cc doesn't work; never has. It used to give an error (either timeout or inout/output), but now it just exits with no result.
•*hidd --search acts weird. If there is no discoverable device it gives an error, but if there is a discoverable device it exits with no result.
•*hidd --connect exits with no result now, but it DID attempt connecting ONCE. My phone asked for a passkey which I didn't know. grr. Anyway, it only happened once and since then something obviously broke and I can't figure out how to reset it.
•*There is no bluetooth daemon script in the bluetooth package. Sucks...
I think we're pretty much hosed if we continue to use bt5. bt4 R1 was a hell of a lot more polished.
