Did you check the md5sum ?
I tried booting through BackTrack Live DVD, in the bash prompt i typed startx, but it says could not find the kernel image.
Boot > startx
Could not find the boot image
Can anybody kindly help me out in installing.
I'm having the same problem with BT5r1 KDE 32 and 64 bit. The MD5 match, Burned by Power Iso set at speed 2 onto a Sony DVD-R. Any suggestions?
If you need to know more I am trying to run it on a Toshiba Satellite L755D. 1.4 Gh AMD Quad Core, 4 Gb ram, 580 Gb free on HDD. if you need any more information let me know.
If I'm not misunderstanding, you are doing it in a wrong way, in first screen after booting from DVD when the command prompt is stating boot: you need to just press enter, after bt5 boots successfully you can use startx command to start user interface.
