    Default Not booting right

    Hello everybody!

I have a DELL Inspiron 17R N7110 DI7110I54G5002GB Core i5 2410M 2.3GHz Black Laptop and I can't get BT5 to run on it, I burned it to a Disk, and would like to install it.
Every time I boot from the disk it ask me which version do I want to boot, I select the Normal Text Mode I think, the first one, it starts loading, I see the text: "The quieter you become..." and right before it would start my screen goes black, than I wait, and I wait, but nothing happens. I tried it on a PC and it works perfectly.

The BT5 is 64Bit, and I burned both the Gnome version, and the other one 2, don't know what the problem is.

    Thx for the help!

Try booting with acpi=off maybe that helps.

Will try that, just tell me how )
    I'm new :P

Is that something I set in the BIOS, or is it BT related, if it is were can I change that setting to off? When I boot BT and then I press TAB where it ask me which version to bot?

Thank you, I fixed it. I managed to install it on my Hard, and made it boot, but now I have a new problem xD

It ask me for the user, I enter root, then it ask me for a password, but I can't type, it's like my keyboard froze, I can only hit enter, an then it says wrong password...

That is the normal behaviour. Backtrack might not be the right distribution if you are new to Linux.

OK, got it to work, thanks for all the help! About the thing that I'm new, I know I shouldn't start with BT but I'm not goin to use Linux every day, I just needed this for WEP cracking, and maybe I'll learn new stuff as I go.

BTW: can I give +rep or something like that? cus Sickness you really deserve it

I hate the image verification, I can barely see the characters xD

I'm having the same issue on my Inspiron N7110, and am wondering what you did you fix it.
