    I have the same problem with the card. It takes about a minute to enable monitor mode, and then takes about 8-10 seconds per channel it scans. It never finds any access points on any channel, although I have been able to find more than 10 in the area with windows on the card. So I guess we wait until better drivers come out...

    For those having the problem of finding 0 aps with the AWUS036NH 2w adapter. It appears that updating the kernel with rt3070 driver support resolves the problem. To avoid the pain in compiling the kernel, codethink has a pre-compiled kernel image available. You can follow the instructions on this thread:

    obviously the awus036h 1W with rtl8187 chipset

    i got one , it's great and well supported because using the same chipset than the good old 500mw

    more range that the 500, less heat

    go for that 1w, it's cheap (30Euros) and work out of the box in BT4

    Unhappy Re: Problems with ALFA Network AWUS036NH and BT4

    I'm having the same problem here. My setup is ;

    Mac Book Pro 15, MAC OSX 10.6.5, VMWare Fusion 3.1.2. I have a ALFA AWUS036NH wireless usb adapter. BT4 R2 loaded onto VMWare. I'm using the latest kernel 2.6.35.8. I have installed and built the latest Compat-Wireless-2010-12-16. As suggested i'm using rt2800usb driver. However i have selected NAT for networking in VMWare. I can see a flashing blue light on my Wireless USB adapter. But when I try to select "Ralink Connect 802.11 n WLAN" on the VMWARE status bar, everything just locks up and the only remedy is to reboot. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

    Thanks in advance for your kind cooperation.

    Ps if you searched the forums before buying that crappy Nh you would have seen all the posts with people complaining about it. For bandwidth in a pentesting environment is it really worth the hassle? I'm not streaming files I'm dumping packets so I'll keep referring people to the h version and f*** the nh
