when i start airmon ng i have nothing

i used my card alfa on wlan1 and on wlan0 its Intel Corporation WiFi Link 1000 Series

I am having the same issue with my laptop. I tried to open the link provided and get a page not found. I am able to put it in monitor mode and still when I run airmon-ng I get nadda. Please let me know what I can do I am so badly want to see what I can do with all of this awesomeness.
