Code:apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get dist-upgrade
Hi there,
My apologies if my first ever BT forum post is a bit of a 'noob' / RTFM type, but here goes:
When using KPackageKit to check for updates, etc. I have no qualms selecting any 'security' updates that come from the BackTrack repository, but as to 'updates' that are sourced from Ubuntu repositories, etc. I'm not sure what the deal is.
I'm new to BackTrack but have been using Red Hat / Fedora for sometime. I understand BackTrack is based upon Ubuntu to some degree but the FAQ states that adding Ubuntu repositories can break one's BackTrack installation... In that case, what is the correct method in updating my BackTrack 5 OS?
Many thanks for your time,
mez
