"mount 192.168.1.13:/u /u" causes the Fedors system to immediately
announce: Jun 25 01:04:51 omen mountd[2469]: authenticated mount request from toshiba:916 for /u (/u)

But nothing seems to happen. A minute or two later BT2 complains it can't read
the superblock and gives up. Telnet and FTP from BT2 zip right along.

Ubuntu 5.10 on the same laptop succeeds in the mount, but it takes
a minute or two.

Other computers on the network do the mount instantly, even an old SCO
Unix box on a Pentium Pro.
