I have the same problem ; starting backtrack 5 Gnome x64 in live CD
I have a Acer Aspire 7540g ; AMD TURION X2 & Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5650
Any idea¿?
Hello, BT community!
I'm eager to get started with BT5, but I can't seem to get it running. I was planning to use a LiveUSB of BT5, but I can't get it to boot. When I leave switchable graphics enabled, I get past the bootloader, but reach a black screen with no console, prompts or text of any kind.
If I boot with discrete graphics disabled in the BIOS, I get past the bootloader, but the kernel panics out before I can do anything, and I get a stack trace dump. I've checked the USB stick with Ubuntu 10.10 to make sure that the stick itself isn't bad, and I've checked the hash on my BT5 .iso to make sure that there's no corruption there.
I've been using unetbootin to set up BT5 on the stick, so I'm not sure if that would cause any problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you for your time.
