Hmm...have you tried using macchanger to set a fully random MAC? Or using other tools to change the MAC?
Having issues connecting to my access point after changing my mac. Seems to time out. I am using BT5R1 VM with Alfa RTL8187L and WPA2 PSK. I am using Network Manager. I have no issue connecting with the default mac just a faked one. I have read maybe some issues with dhclient. Also I do not have mac filtering enabled. I have been unable to find a good anwser on this. Any help would be appreciated.
google search string intext:macchanger intext:not connect
ifconfig wlan0 down
macchanger -a wlan0
ifconfig wlan0 up
and
ifconfig wlan0 down
ifconfig wlan0 hw ether <mac>
ifconfig wlan0 up
no luck with both.

If I could figure out how to scuba dive & hack at the same time, there would be nothing I couldn't do...
I can't add much more than the previous comment unfortunately, but I can tell you that macchanger does work for me with that same adapter...
Running both KDE and GNOME BT5 flawlessly. Thank you !
WEP seems to work not WPA2. wpa_supplicant issues?
airmon-ng start wlan0
ifconfig wlan0 down
macchanger -r wlan0
ifconfig wlan0 up (works with WEP not WPA2)
