Hi Friends,
I tried to install Backtrac 5 r1 on VMware 7.1.2 build-301548 and my host OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit (Build 7600) 6.1.7600 and My Processor is Intel Core 2 Duo 2.1 Ghz T6500. On VMware I selected Linux as my guest OS and Version as Ubuntu...but while i start the installation on default boot text mode it halts the installation operation Showing the following error:
THE KERNAL REQUIRES AN X86-64 CPU, BUT ONLY DETECTED AN I686 CPU. UNABLE TO BOOT- PLEASE USE A KERNEL APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR CPU.
As I know Intel core 2 duo t6500 is an x86-64 processor but why is it showing I686 CPU i don't know . So please guys get me out of this problem!
