Im looking for the best way to learn backtrack and how to use its tools and also to learn command line if anyone could help me or provide me with links or any other info id appreciate it and also im looking for a list of all and most commonly used commands so any help would be appreciated thanks![]()

BackTracK carrys hundreds of tools. We suggest you to start with fundamentals before using any tool. If you have any question, just use search available on the forum.

If you're not familiar with the command line, you probably want to get yourself very comfortable with Linux first. My suggestion, install a Linux distribution and use it without a GUI for several weeks until you know your way around the system using only the command line.
For books I recommend "Metasploit: The Penetration Tester's Guide" over "BackTrack: Assuring Security by Penetration Testing." It has more reliable sources, more explanation instead of as much command line output, and also cheaper. Learn the command line if you haven't already, this means a lot.
I suggest learning a good bit a networking and how to use the terminal before getting into backtrack.
