partition problems

i'm new to backtrack and i'm running into a problem. the problem is with my partition my notebook had 565 GB the other day i installed backtrack with dual boot with my windows 7, it was giving my problems in the startup so i deleted it. now my hardrive is showing 242 GB remaining how can i recover that missing partition to get my full 565 GB and can i just boot backtrack from a usb without installing it to my pc. can someone please help

How exactly did you delete backtrack ? Also try using a partition manager tool to delete your ext3/4 partition or convert it to ntfs back.

also you can delete grub by using your windows disc and start recovery and find there command prompt and use this command
