First of all KDE != Gnome and second did you even install the Nvidia drivers ?
hi all dear user
i have backtrack 5 by gnome 32 bit in my laptop that it model is sony f137fx.
when i boot my laptop by live disk, my monitor display is in 1600*900 resolution mode;
but when i run backtrack 5 from hard disk; my resolution come in 800*600 mode and display icons to large.
please help me to solve this problem.

but my resolution not changed
my graphic card is nvidia 425m gpu

Do not take a look at the: Forum Rules !
You need to install the nvidia drivers for your card from the vendors page (nvidia) first. I assume the drivers used are the nouveau, and they have many issues with nvidia and ati cards..So, please, try to install the drivers first and then see if problem continues.
