I'll try to make my post short and to the point:
I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit) on a Dell XPS L502x. I'm running BT5 on VMware (7.1.4 build-385536) and the "virtual machine" boots up just fine. The USB wireless card I am using is the NETGEAR WG111v2. The software driver suite I am using for the WG111v2 is 4.0.0.
In sum, when I click on VM>removable devices>NETGEAR USB Device, I get the following error:
“The connection....was unsuccessful. Driver error.” (This appears in the bottom, right-hand corner of the BT5 window)
I attempted to include a screenshot so all of you can see what I’m talking about, but was met with an inexplicable error message.
I’ve re-installed the device drivers twice:
The driver date is: 4/2/2010 and the driver version is: 62.1310.402.2010
Moreover, the USB Wireless card works fine in the Windows 7 environment (there are no error messages in Windows and the device manages indicates the USB Card is working properly."
I’ve tried a number of different things to get BT5 to recognize the USB card, all to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.
