I am running an ASUS G73SW XN2 which has a Core i7 2630QM, 8GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 460M graphics card, and 500GB hard drive.
Unfortunately for some reason when I try and boot backtrack 5 32-bit GNOME from the DVD it will hang at the screen that states "boot:" and does not even load backtrack. When I type "startx" it will give me the response: "Could not find the kernel image".
My thought was that maybe I should try booting off of USB. When I use YUMI to attempt this, I can get the backtrack screen to load fine to the start up options. When at the start up options no matter which option I try I always get the error
"(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system"
The Safe Mode options gives me an error that says something about "/dev/sr0" not being found, and this error repeats itself.
Any suggestions?
