start x problem

Hi

first of all i have ASUS N53ji series notbook with nVidia Optimus 2 gb graphics recently i install backtrack5 for the first time When i start the backtrack 5 live cd , i tried to use startx and the screen went black and the Caps lock LED start flashing.
i tried to wait some min to see if it started but nothing happend.

my windows is 7 home premium , 64 bit operating system,and back track iso BT5-KDE-64

so is there any solution for this ?

i have the same problem. after typing 'startx' window became black and blinking capslock and scrolllock indicator. i've waited for few minutes and nothing happens
mine is laptop intel i3 with 2gb ram and ati hd545 radeon, i was thinking if its the graphic driver since it cannot load the gui.

any help will do.

it went through but it detected a conflict so i might need to adjust further.

I would try the gnome distro also. I had good luck with my Opitmus card and Gnome 32bit BT5.
