I'm new to 'backtrack', before I used Ubuntu 11.04 .. Today I installed the 'backtrack 5 KDE 32-bit. ".
after installation, I started the system but an open window, saying it gave error in the audio sound.
in the window that opens says the following error:
Removed Sound Devices
KDE detected that one or more internal sound devices were removed.
Do you want KDE to permanently forget about these devices?
This is the list of devices KDE thinks can be removed:
-Capture: Ensoniq AudioPCI ENS1371 (ES1371 DAC2/ADC)
-Capture: saa7134 (SAA7134 PCM)
-Output: Ensoniq AudioPCI ENS1371 (ES1371 DAC2/ADC)
( ) Do not ask again for these devices.
i tried to search in forums and websites but i couldnt solve the problem. please i need you to help me
You will probably encounter reluctant help at best with this, particularly here; as it's absolutely not a backtrack specific issue. Some good places to possibly look for more info would be the ALSA site @ http://alsa.opensrc.org/Ens1371 or maybe even the Ubuntu Studio forum which is more geared towards this sort of material @ http://ubuntustudio.org/
without doing your research for you, i'm guessing you have 2 cards in the box;one on the motherboard and one pci or etc; and need to blacklist one of them in modprobe or some equivalent sort of action.
i'm not sure this is directly helpful to you, but perhaps will help you figure it out.
