I have been using the ALFA AWUS036NH with bt5 Gnome for a while, but needed to do a reinstall for various reasons. But now, the card is not being detected by BT. Here is what I have done:

-Re install BT
-Use the Cd that came with the card to install the driver:
------Extract some files
------"make -C /root/something/driver/"

-Some stuff I read on another forum (http://forum.aircrack-ng.org/index.php?topic=7262.0):
------"echo "blacklist rtl8187" | tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf"*
------"echo "blacklist r8187" | tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf"*
------*I added ".conf" to the end, because there wasn't a file that didn't have the extension.
------"modprobe -r rtl8187 && modprobe r8187"

So is there something obvious I missed?

Running ifconfig shows wlan0 (my integrated wifi card) but no wlan1. And sometimes even wlan0 disappears, but comes back when I open WICD.

Has anyone noticed how TERRIBLE backtrack-linux's captcha is?
