Default Backtrack 5 on Motorola DROID A855

Anyone had any luck getting the settings for the bt file?

Been looking online for hours trying to get the settings for the Motorola Droid A855 I've had no luck!

Current bt file settings i have is:
    Code:
    perm=$(id|cut -b 5)
if [ "$perm" != "0" ];then echo "This script requires root! Type: su"; exit; fi
    mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /system
    export kit=/sdcard/bt5
    export bin=/system/bin
    export mnt=/data/local/mnt
    mkdir $mnt
    export PATH=$bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/games:$PATH
    export TERM=linux
    export HOME=/root
    if [ -b /dev/loop7 ]; then
    	echo "Loop device exists"
    else
    	busybox mknod /dev/loop7 b 7 0
    fi
    #mount -o loop,noatime -t ext2 $kit/bt5.img $mnt
    losetup /dev/block/loop7 $kit/bt5.img
    mount -t ext2 /dev/block/loop7 $mnt
    mount -t devpts devpts $mnt/dev/pts
    mount -t proc proc $mnt/proc
    mount -t sysfs sysfs $mnt/sys
    busybox sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_forward=1
    echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" > $mnt/etc/resolv.conf
    echo "nameserver 8.8.4.4" >> $mnt/etc/resolv.conf
    echo "127.0.0.1 localhost bt5" > $mnt/etc/hosts
echo "Ubuntu is configured with SSH and VNC servers that can be accessed from the IP:"
    ifconfig eth0
    echo " "
    busybox chroot $mnt /bin/bash

    echo "Shutting down BackTrack ARM"
    umount $mnt/dev/pts
    umount $mnt/proc
    umount $mnt/sys
    umount $mnt
    losetup -d /dev/loop7

Yup, I've got bt5 running on my droid 1 with no problems.. I followed anant's method in the samsung thread but did have to jump through some hoops.. the main thing is you need to make sure your ROM supports ext2 which the stock droid does not do by default.. I recommend Bugless Beast 0.6 by Peter Alfonso for the rom and i even flashed p3's ext2/3/4.zip module to make sure.. Once the environment is correctly set up you can use this as your startbt script.. don't forget to run the installbt.sh script first though and create any directories that are throwing errors.. it's actually pretty simple and straightforward to get set up once you get the right things checked off the list like the ROM and making the needed directories as required.. and having BT5 on your phone is pretty awesome!

    good luck!

    Code:
    export kit=/sdcard/bt
    export bin=/system/bin
    export mnt=/data/local/bt
    export PATH=$bin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/bin:$PATH
    export TERM=linux
    export HOME=/root

    # Mounting Image to the farthest loop point

    mknod /dev/block/loop254 b 7 254
    busybox losetup /dev/block/loop254 $kit/bt.img

    busybox mount -t ext2 /dev/block/loop254 $mnt

    busybox mount --bind /dev/pts $mnt/dev/pts
    busybox mount --bind /proc $mnt/proc
    busybox mount --bind /sys $mnt/sys

    #seting environment
    sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_forward=1
echo "Setting /etc/resolv.conf to Google Open DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4"
    echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" > $mnt/etc/resolv.conf
    echo "nameserver 8.8.4.4" >> $mnt/etc/resolv.conf
    echo "127.0.0.1 localhost" > $mnt/etc/hosts
echo "BackTrack Loader by Anant based on ubuntu loader"
echo "BackTrack is ready just type 'bt'"

First off, exactly where and when are you getting this error? what do you mean when you try to start the terminal? when you use the startbt script or the bt script? Just to verify you have no problems with the android terminal emulator app right?

here are some things to check (all to be run in android terminal emulator):

    Code:
    ls /data/local/bt
This directory should exist.. if it does not (no such file or directory error), then create it and a few others with:
    Code:
    mkdir -p /data/local/bt
    cd /data/local/bt
    mkdir sys proc dev
    cd dev
    mkdir pts
If /data/local/bt DOES already exist then run:

    Code:
    mount
make sure you see the following 4 lines at the end of the mount output:

    Code:
    /dev/block/loop254 /data/local/bt ext2 rw,relatime,errors=continue 0 0
    devpts /data/local/bt/dev/pts devpts rw,relatime,mode=600 0 0
    proc /data/local/bt/proc proc rw,relatime 0 0
    sysfs /data/local/bt/sys sysfs rw,relatime 0 0
If these are not mounted you may experience issues like you described.. let me know some more information and we'll go from there.. good luck!

Alright i hope this thread isn't dead i have just recently acquired the A855 and i have flashed the Bugless Beast and have had success in getting root...and sorry for i am new to this still i am just trying to educate myself before getting into school. I have everything set up so far as i know i have the BT5 arm package on my SD...i have Remote VNC Pro set up to the local host 127.0.0.1:5901 password set to "root"...ok so i go into Terminal Emulator and get root "su" and then cd sdcard bt5 (it tells can't cd to /mnt/bt5) i am lost as what i should do next.

(EDIT) OK i got it to run after flashing the EXT2 module but i try running the terminal in BT5 and i get this message "There was an error creating the child process for this terminal" (and again this is with the Backtrack terminal NOT the android....
