this guide does not work
both "wget" files are broke
why dont someone just tell us how to goto adobe and find these files so we dont have to do this ****

Whatever you do ... DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT look on the Wiki, the answer isn't there: http://www.backtrack-linux.org/wiki/...l_Flash_Player
Back|track giving machine guns to monkeys since 2007 !
Do not read the Wiki, most your questions will not be answered there !

@en1gma first of all Backtrack 5 was not made for having Flash player on it an second the Wiki covers the basic installation steps, if the links do not work go to the official site and get the packets.

Adobe has done another change up so here is the updated code for the guys script up top: nice script by the way. works well.
Code:#!/bin/bash mkdir ~/flashinstaller && cd ~/flashinstaller apt-get purge flashplugin-nonfree flashplugin-installer gnash gnash-common mozilla-plugin-gnash swfdec-mozilla rm -f /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so rm -f /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so rm -f /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/flashplugin-alternative.so rm -f /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/npwrapper*flash*so rm -f ~/.mozilla/plugins/*flash*so # download flash square and flash player from: wget http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.1.102.55/install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar.gz wget http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplatformruntimes/flashplayer11-2/flashplayer11-2_p4_install_lin_32_011912.tar.gz tar xfvz flashplayer11-2_p4_install_lin_32_011912.tar.gz chown root:root libflashplayer.so chmod 0644 libflashplayer.so cp -f libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ rm -rf libflashplayer.so ln -s /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/ tar xvfz install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar.gz mkdir ~/.mozilla/plugins mv -f libflashplayer.so ~/.mozilla/plugins/ cd
THANK GOD FOR THIS THREAD. I could not get the flash to work even after going through the wiki and googling how to get the flash to work.
I'd also like to mention that the latest script posted in here works for bt5 kde 64 bit as well.
I don't know what I could do now. I did everything I've seen (Wiki + this thread), but nothing works.
Here's the Response at my terminal:

I have been with linux for years, and flash support was sticky.
I found that Firefox Add on, Flash AID, will install your correct version and remove all. Runs a bunch of scripts and gets the flash set up for other browsers.
Works fine on 64 version , also you can install the beta version of Flash if you want or the stable version.
I know sounds lazy but simplicity it's smart![]()
