Hi there
Did some Google search , i found a final fix for Ettercap and resolved the crashing/freezing problem.
1) Uninstall the existent version of Ettercap on BT5 using package manager.
2) download these packages:
https://launchpad.net/~timothy-redae...izzt1_i386.deb
https://launchpad.net/~timothy-redae...izzt1_i386.deb
Now you can call Ettercap from menu or terminal, it wont crash or freeze specially during host scan.
Good luck

Hi, i did reply to that thread some time ago, that was before i found this fix.![]()
cool, seems to work ! Thanks !
the solution works fine for about 2 months.thanks!![]()
Yw, maybe is not the best solution, but so far, didnt experience any crashes till now, been using it for quiet sometime ! fingers crossed, lol. but there is something i wanted to ask, i can get usernames & passwords of almost everything, even https , yahoo, gmail, hotmail ecc , except facebook, how come ?
from what little I know this solution works well, but as I said 2 months ago I can not go with it sslstrip, iptables! I still have the problem of "certificate" (in the victim machine). the only viable alternative(for my smoking-mind) to solve this problem is the use of the script of our great friend COMAX (mint.sh-vers0, 91) [many thanks to him] perfect work 99%
bye
